TYLER NELSON - Dancer/Choreographer

"I am Hip Hop dance," Tyler Nelson proclaimed on MTV's Taking the Stage produced by Nick Lachey. The show featured Tyler, a principal character in season one of the reality based show that featured several talented students at Cincinnati based School of Creative and Performing Arts, more than talks the talk: he choreographs the walk. Driven by the motto, "Good, better, best. Never let it rest...until your good is better and your better is your best," budding star Tyler Nelson is prepared to take the stage at any moment.

A native of Cincinnati, OH born January 26, 1991 began studying various forms of movement by the age of 8. This kung fu blackbelt/stepmaster/mc /host/actor/tap, ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop dancer has displayed his talent on local, statewide, and national levels. This exposure gained him recognition and opportunity. In 2009, he danced with national champion dance team, Star Performance. Prior, he accepted the offer to dance for The Radio One "Russ Parr Morning Show Tour" from 2006 to 2008.

At the age of 18 Tyler has rubbed elbows with many of Hip Hop Dance's elite. He has learned from and danced with Alonzo Coppins, choreographer Brandi and Tyrese; Chuck Maldonado choreographer of the film "Stomp theYard"; Shane Sparks judge of "America's Best Dance Crew" and choreographer of the film "You Got Served"; Shawnette Heard Janet Jackson's tour choreographer; and Missy Zimmer and Andrew Hubbard, the directors of Planet Dance Studios. He has also shared the stage with gospel artist Tyrel Washington, Rhianna, and the world famous Beyounce.

Tyler is currently awaiting season two of MTV’s ‘Taking the Stage’ and traveling the country teaching master classes of his own.
